NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA - Jan 28th, 2000 - L.A. Digital Post (LADP) has launched a new high tech online rental center called "Configurator", located within its corporate website, www.ladigital.com.

Configurator is a new online ordering system built with Macromedia Flash and Generator technology that will allow LADP's editorial customers to formulate an Editing Suite, Editing System, Storage, Deck or Peripherals rental right over the internet.

"It's a much faster and more efficient ordering system for producers, editors and assistants. They can order support packages, page our tech team within minutes or add equipment to a recent rental," states LADP President, Mark Bianchi who has spearheaded the Configurator project. "It also opens up our ability to service new clients and more territories, both nationally and internationally."

The system was designed and built by Chick Ciccarelli, VP of Communications and Flash Technician, Steve Arbizo (formerly of Moviola Digital). "It's the cutting edge of e-commerce capabilities. What's really unique about it is the fact that it's one self-contained, animated movie. Though there's a large technical back-end to it, it's really simple for the user to move through. It has two control panels, one for section navigation and one for page navigation," says Ciccarelli. "In addition to ordering equipment the user can create an account, create their own user names and passwords, or even save a session if they get called away from the computer and then retrieve the same session at a later time, without losing information already entered."

Configurator generates a confidential user profile database which it accesses each time a user begins a New Order session. It comes complete with a self scrolling help menu, pop-up equipment menus and an industry trivia game to keep even the most reserved individual interested.

LADP rents and services a wide variety of professional postproduction editorial equipment for digital on-line and off-line applications. In addition to providing on-location service and technical support, the company has editorial suites available at its' North Hollywood and Santa Monica locations. L.A. Digital Post is an Avid Authorized Rental Center, Avid Authorized Support Provider and a Hewlett Packard/Transoft Reseller.
